Logbook

Day 1

You meet a member of the Sun Sea team with whom you meet your prestigious 43-foot Leopard Powercat motor catamaran.
At 5:00 pm, you embark for your first night on board. Tonight, you have two options: you can spend the night at the “Marina du Marin” or at the Pointe Borgnèse anchorage.
Once moored, you can celebrate the beginning of this new adventure and enjoy your cocktail dinner basket composed by our prestigious partner. Creative products and recipes that honor local products and homemade drinks with Martinique flavors.

Day 2

Today, discover during a guided tour the Habitation Clément, a place of memory classified as a historical monument. Discover the garden, a real open-air museum, permanently exhibiting works of art acquired by the Clément Foundation, as well as the 18th century house, restored and refurnished in its original style. This is a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the art of tropical living and to discover the traditional architecture and furnishings of a large Creole house. At noon, the “Table d’hôtes” of the Maison of “Ilet Oscar” welcomes you to (re)discover the local cuisine in an exceptional setting. This afternoon, the famous Josephine’s Bathtub awaits you for a moment of relaxation! This evening, you sleep at “Ilet Long”, a peaceful site perfect for relaxation and change of scenery.

Day 3

After breakfast, you meet Waël in her family farm in Le François, combining tradition and innovation. In a few hours, you go from the garden to the tasting. You start by visiting the gardens to discover the different growing techniques, the local biodiversity and the life at the farm. Then you choose and pick the products that you will be working on in the kitchen, during the culinary workshop. Eventually, you be able to taste your preparations in the middle of the farm. Waël accompanies you during all these steps and make you benefit from her know-how for a unique experience. Then, you discover the “Ilet la Grotte” and the “Ilet Chancel” where you are able to visit the remains of an old pottery, a colony of endemic iguana and a splendid mangrove. Finally, you take the direction of the “Baie du Trésor” where the mangrove is home to all the species of mangroves of the island. An exceptional site with the possibility of swimming and hiking on the Caravelle Peninsula: a peninsula about ten kilometers long with superb panoramas on the Atlantic Ocean. Tonight, you sleep at the “Baie du Trésor” and enjoy its peaceful and timeless atmosphere.

Day 4

Today, embark with your driver-guide for a day of land excursions! You start by visiting the Banana Museum in Sainte Marie, installed in an old rum factory from the 18th century, it presents in a playful way the history of the most consumed fruit in the world. Then you reach the town of “Le Prêcheur” through the land, enjoy the change of scenery! Then you have lunch in the middle of nature at the gastronomic restaurant of the Habitation Céron. Amazing dishes cooked from the harvests of the garden! From there, you are going to see an exceptional framework of this house by strolling in its garden to meet a hundred-year-old tree, the “Zamana”. This afternoon, head to “Anse Couleuvre”, where you can hike to the beautiful waterfall of “Anse Couleuvre” or relax on one of the most beautiful beaches of the island, very authentic and preserved. At the end of the afternoon, you enjoy a magnificent sunset in the harbor of St Pierre.

Day 5

Nicknamed the Little Paris, the Paris of the Islands or the Pearl of the West Indies, you wake up in the harbor of St-Pierre, city of art and history. When the weather is good, you be able to admire the majestic Pelée Mountain.
This morning, you visit this city full of history with a guide who makes you discover in a playful and family way the history of Saint Pierre and its main sites.
At noon, you go to Carbet to have lunch with your feet right in the sand at the Petitbonum restaurant. Enjoy the warm and relaxed atmosphere!
This afternoon, we take you to “Fond Boucher”, a superb cove accessible only by sea! A perfect spot to observe the underwater fauna with mask and snorkel.
At sunset, we head for Fort-de-France to spend the night.
For dinner, a cooking and tasting workshop is planned on board! You learn how to cook fresh and local food in an original way, so that you can continue to enjoy Martinique’s cuisine on your return at home.

Day 6

Welcome to the capital, Fort de France! This morning you wake up in one of the most beautiful bays in the world: “la baie des Flamants”. This morning, you enjoy a guided tour that makes you discover the main sites of the city center but also the garden of Balata which will amaze you with its unique collection of plants from all over the world collected during the numerous trips of its creator. Then, head towards the village of “la Poterie” at “Trois Ilets” to have lunch in a calm and green setting at the restaurant “Le Jardin des envies”. You are also able to take advantage of the various local handicraft stores that are present in the village. This afternoon, grab a kayak to discover the mangrove of Génipa, the biggest but also the oldest and the richest in fauna and flora of Martinique. At the end of the day, head to “Anse Noire” for an evening in this small beach of black sand, lined with coconut trees, skiffs and fishermen’s nets, perfect for resting.

Day 7

For your last day on board, enjoy a day dedicated of nautical activities.
This morning, you go looking out for turtles at “Anse Dufour”, a small cove with turquoise waters, golden sand and fishermen’s huts.
In the afternoon, you go to “Grande Anse”, a long and beautiful beach of golden sand, lined up with coconut trees, small houses and restaurants. It is one of the few beaches where you can already see fish almost at the water’s edge, not to mention turtles just off the shore. Seabob, towed buoy, snorkeling or scuba diving, there is something for everyone!
Then head to Sainte Anne, admire the famous Diamond Rock on the way, before enjoying your last evening on board at Sainte Anne, one of the most popular anchorages in Martinique.
This evening, our chef comes on board to serve you an exceptional meal based on local flavors.

Day 8

It is now 9:00 am, your cruise is over. It’s time to take all these wonderful memories with you and meet up with a member of the Sun Sea team at the Marina du Marin.
