Logbook

Day 1

You meet a member of the Sun Sea team with whom you meet your prestigious 43-foot Leopard Powercat motor catamaran.
At 5:00 pm, you embark for your first night on board. Tonight, you have two options: you can spend the night at the Marina du Marin or at the Pointe Borgnèse anchorage.
Once moored, you can celebrate the beginning of this new adventure and enjoy your cocktail dinner basket composed by our prestigious partner. Creative products and recipes that honor local products and homemade drinks with Martinique flavors.

Day 2

This morning, you head to the Atlantic coast of Martinique, towards Le François for a guided tour of the A1710 distillery. Dive into the fascinating world of rum by observing all the stages of its manufacture. From the harvest of the organic cane field to the Habitation du Simon, through the pressing in the traditional mill, the distillation in our copper still “La Belle Aline” and the aging in the cellar, you discover how A1710 rums are made. The tour continues after a refreshing break in the shady park facing the “Ilets of François”, with a tasting of our great vintages in the living rooms of the main house, with its remarkable colonial architecture. At noon, the “table d’hôtes” of the Maison of “Ilet Oscar” welcomes you to (re)discover the local cuisine in an exceptional setting. This afternoon, the famous Josephine’s Bathtub awaits you for a moment of relaxation! This evening, you sleep at “Ilet Long”, a peaceful site perfect for relaxation and a change of scenery.

Day 3

After breakfast, you discover the “Ilet la Grotte” and the “Ilet Chancel” where you are able to visit the remains of an old pottery, a colony of endemic iguana and a splendid mangrove.
For dinner, a cooking and tasting workshop is planned on board! You learn how to cook fresh and local food in an original way, so that you can continue to enjoy the Martinique cuisine on your return at home.
Then, you take the direction of the “Baie du Trésor” whose mangrove is home to all the species of mangroves of the island. An exceptional site with the possibility of swimming and hiking on the Caravelle Peninsula: a ten-kilometer-long peninsula with superb panoramas on the Atlantic Ocean.
Tonight, you sleep at the “Baie du Trésor” and enjoy its peaceful and timeless atmosphere.

Day 4

Today, embark on the second part of your cruise, to discover the Caribbean coast. Head for Saint Pierre, the starting point of your day trip. You have lunch in the middle of nature at the gastronomic restaurant of the “Habitation Céron”. Taste dishes cooked from the harvests of the garden and enjoy the exceptional setting of this house by walking in its garden to meet a hundred-year-old tree, the “Zamana”. This afternoon, head to “Anse Couleuvre”, where you can hike to the beautiful waterfall of “Anse Couleuvre” or relax on one of the most beautiful beaches of the island, very authentic and preserved. At the end of the afternoon, you enjoy a magnificent sunset in the harbor of St Pierre.

Day 5

Nicknamed the Little Paris, the Paris of the Islands, or the Pearl of the West Indies, you wake up in the harbor of St-Pierre, city of art and history. When weather is good, you are able to admire the majestic Pelée Mountain. This morning, you visit this city full of history with a guide who show you, among other things, the remains of the 1902 eruption. You also visit the memorial of the 1902 disaster, the Franck A. Perret museum. At noon, head to “Le Carbet” for lunch with your feet in the sand at the Petitbonum restaurant. Enjoy the warm and relaxed atmosphere! This afternoon, we take you to “Fond Boucher,” a superb cove accessible only by sea! A perfect spot to observe the underwater fauna with mask and snorkel. At sunset, head for Fort-de-France to spend the night.

Day 6

Welcome to the main city, Fort de France! This morning you wake up in one of the most beautiful bays in the world: “la baie des Flamants”. Then, you enjoy a guided tour that makes you discover the main sites of the city center but also the Balata Garden that will amaze you with its unique collection of plants from all over the world collected during its creator’s numerous trips. Then, head towards the village of “la Poterie” at “Trois Ilets” to have lunch in a calm and green setting at the restaurant “Le Jardin des envies”. You are also able to have a look at the various local handicraft stores in the village. This afternoon, you go kayaking to discover the mangrove of Génipa, the biggest but also the oldest and the richest in fauna and flora of Martinique. At the end of the day, head to “Anse Noire” for an evening in this small beach of black sand, lined up with coconut trees, skiffs and fishermen’s nets, perfect for resting.

Day 7

For your last day on board, we have organized a day dedicated to water activities. This morning, you go looking out for turtles at “Anse Dufour”, a small cove with turquoise waters, golden sand and fishermen’s huts. In the afternoon, you go to “Grande Anse”, a long and beautiful beach of golden sand, lined up with coconut trees, small houses and restaurants. It is one of the few beaches where you can already see fishes almost at the water’s edge, not to mention turtles just off the shore. Seabob, towed buoy, snorkeling or scuba diving, there is something for everyone! Then head to Sainte Anne, admire the famous Diamond Rock, before enjoying your last evening on board in Sainte Anne, one of the most popular anchorages in Martinique. This evening, our chef come on board to serve you an exceptional meal based on delicious local flavors.
